PMW-500 XDCAM HD422 camera
Sony's PMW-500 was released in 2010. It has three 2/3-inch type 2.2-megapixel full-HD progressive CCDs - the same sensors as the PDW-F800/700 disc camcorders. The PMW-500 records onto SxS cards. It has BBC-approved broadcast spec with 4:2:2 colour space at 50Mbps, or at 35mbs for jobs requiring matching to footage shot on XDCAM EX cameras (EX1, EX3, PMW350).

It records 50 or 60hz (ie PAL or NTSC). Slow and quick motion cover frame rates from 1 fps (frame per second) to 60 fps in 720p mode and from 1 fps to 30 fps in 1080p mode. It performs time-lapse recording.
